The town of Winterhaven offered a brief respite for our heroes to recover and search for Mac, Geoffrey’s contact. The group found Mac in the local smithy’s shop, apparently picking up a little work while waiting for their arrival. A quick visit to the tavern, meeting Ror, and our heroes were off to save the world.
We find that Winterhaven is plagued by three problems:
- Kobold raids on the roads
- Strange goings on at the keep ruins
- Rumors of an archeological dig on the outskirts of town and it’s relation to the disappearance of a previous group sent to investigate the previous problems.
Once on the road, the party was again harassed by a group of kobolds on the road to a local archeological dig. After dispatching the slightly-tougher-than-expected kobold ambushers, the group found a necklace with a carved obsidian image of Orcus.
The archeological site proved to be more dangerous than expected. With cooperation amongst the group and Ror’s heroics in keeping the drakes occupied while the rest of the group took out the opposition, victory was achieved and new information was found. Alain was able to rescue an acquaintance from his guild, Balon Redwyne, who informed the party of the fate of the previous group and the location and importance of the relic found at this site. The area was searched, and the party returned to Winterhaven to recover and plan their next move.
